The Table of Faiths luncheon is an annual program and fundraiser for the Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council. The luncheon occurs during the second week of November and focuses on a specific theme relating to interfaith issues.

Theme: Spirituality and the Environment: Caring for the Earth, Our Legacy
Who: The Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council (GKCIC) provides educational programs, fosters dialogue between people of diverse faiths, empowers relationships based on knowledge, not stereotypes, and is “building the most welcoming community for all people.”
When: Thurs., Nov. 8, 2012, Lunch/Program 12-1:30 PM, Faith Exhibits 11 AM-2 PM

Raise awareness about, and operational funds for, GKCIC programs. Encourage more interaction between attendees through mixed (open) seating. Explore relationship between spirituality, religion and the environment. Reduce carbon footprint of event by using locally grown foods & less paper. Collect food for Harvesters.
Celebrate diversity of faiths & their unique perspectives on spirituality & the environment. Faith & Environmental Exhibits! Use produce from local gardens & traditional sources where gardens cannot provide! Sikh Chanting!

Music by: 11AM-12 PM will feature Mali Drums and Terry Whetstone on American Indian Flute!

- The Honorable Mayor Sly James will receive the Steve Jeffers Interfaith Leadership Award for outstanding leadership at the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, increasing interfaith understanding & inclusion of the diverse faiths in greater Kansas City area.
- Unity Church of Overland Park will receive the Table of Faiths Award for exceptional leadership, support for interfaith education & other congregations.
