Kevin Wehner
Kevin Wehner has been a faith member of the Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council representing Sufism since 2008. Kevin is on the path that has heart. The path where the most important thing is to find God in the heart of each person and oneself. He has BA degrees in Education and Social Science. After graduating from college, he taught 17 years of Head Start and Early Childhood for the Kansas City, Missouri School District.
In 2006, Kevin began attending the Dances of Universal Peace in Kansas City where he eventually learned about Sufism. He was initiated in 2008 to the Sufi Ruhaniat Order and also learned of his passion for turning as a practice (part of the Mevlevi tradition of whirling dervishes).
Since 2003, Kevin has worked for the Christian Foundation for Children & Aging (CFCA) as a User Analyst assisting in technological support and software testing. CFCA works in 23 countries around the world, and serves more than 300,000 children, youth and aging persons with the generous support of more than 250,000 sponsors.
Kevin is a professional computer nerd who compassionately assists CFCA's goal of creating worldwide self-sustaining communities of compassion. In 2007, he traveled to India to learn more about CFCA's work in the field and to meet the sponsored families.
Kevin enjoys reading, stargazing, theater, films, biking, hiking, traveling, wilderness camping, canoeing, dancing, music, and birding.
