Robert Bacic is the Roman Catholic faith member of the Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council, and serves as its current Convener.  He has worked for various Catholic institutions as a full-time, lay ecclesial (church) minister since 1978.  Currently, Mr. Bacic serves on the parish staff of the Church of the Holy Cross in Overland Park, Kansas, where he coordinates the parish’s efforts in adult religious education, bereavement ministry, and social outreach.  In addition, he works as a mediator in community and workplace settings.   Bob is a member, and past president, of the Heartland Mediators Association, and he is also a member of the Association of Conflict Resolution.  In 2008 he ended a seven-year appointment on the Kansas Supreme Court’s Advisory Council on Dispute Resolution.  Bob is an adjunct faculty member at Johnson County Community College where is teaches a mediation seminar.  He holds a Master of Arts degree in religious studies from the University of Kansas (1987) and a Master of Science degree in adult education from Kansas State University (1992).  His inspiration for interfaith work comes from the Second Vatican’s Council’s declaration, Nostra Aetate (1965), which urges the Catholic community to relate to followers of the world’s religions with respect and affection through dialogue and collaboration.  Bob is a husband, stepparent, grandparent, brother and uncle.  He lives in Lenexa, Kansas, with his wife, Donna Bacic, and their dog, Dudley.  For fun he enjoys going for a walk, reading a book, taking a trip, listening to a lecture, attending the theater, visiting a museum or watching college basketball.
