Fr. Paisius Altschul is an Orthodox Priest and Pastor of St. Mary of Egypt Orthodox Church in Kansas City, MO. He has a Masters of Social Work, and is the Executive Director of Reconciliation Services in Kansas City. Nineteen years ago Fr. Paisius and his wife, Matushka Michaela, started Reconciliation Ministries in mid-town Kansas City, an interdenominational outreach to those in need. Many of the core members joined the Orthodox Church in 1993 and formed St. Mary of Egypt Orthodox Mission. Fr. Paisius is the editor of Unbroken Circle, and author of Wade in the River: The Story of the African Christian Faith. In 2005 they formed Reconciliation Services—the social services arm of their parish—which focuses on substance abuse treatment and recovery, trauma support and recovery, case management, and cultural proficiency. Much of the work includes multi-system work with individuals, family, and community healing.
